  • Day 1

    Travel to Washington, D.C.

    Travel to Washington, D.C. during the beautiful cherry blossom season. Upon arrival, transfer to the heart of the city for a four-night stay at the Hyatt Centric at Washington Key Bridge. Situated across the Potomac River from historic Georgetown, and just minutes from the Smithsonian Museums and the National Mall, it is a perfect location for our lodging. Gather together with your fellow travelers tonight for a get-acquainted dinner.

  • Day 2

    Local Sightseeing

    Today we explore Washington and gain a broad overview of our nation’s capital. With the help of a local guide, we’ll enjoy a full-day city tour. Make a photo stop at the White House, drive past Capitol Hill, Embassy Row, and the Washington Monument. Visit the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the Vietnam Memorial, and the WWII Memorial. See and learn about many other landmarks which will bring our national heritage to life. Our dinner tonight will be at a popular restaurant in the heart of Georgetown.

  • Day 3

    Arlington Cemetery / Mount Vernon

    Start the morning with a stop to view the largest cast bronze statue in the world, the Iwo Jima Memorial. Next we will tour Arlington National Cemetery, a shrine to the thousands of women and men who have died to keep our country free. Visit the burial site of John F. Kennedy and the Tomb of the Unknowns where the Changing of the Guard occurs each half-hour. This afternoon we will travel to Mount Vernon on the Potomac River, the home of George and Martha Washington. This 18th-century estate includes the mansion, gardens, outbuildings, and tomb of our first president.

  • Day 4

    Free Day / Shuttle

    This day is set aside for you to explore on your own the many national treasures found here. The museums of the Smithsonian Institute, the U.S. Holocaust Museum and Memorial, the iconic Newseum, the Library of Congress, the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, and the National Gallery of Art are all possibilities. Also consider time to discover some of the hidden treasures beyond the monuments and museums. Browse the antique stores and enjoy the sidewalk cafes tucked away just behind the scenes. Our bus will drop off and pick up at several locations throughout the day and convenient public transportation will allow you the freedom to customize even more to see what interests you. Tonight, we’ll all have stories to share over our farewell dinner at a quaint, local restaurant.

    Travel Home

    Depart Washington, D.C. this morning and journey to the airport for our awaiting flight. Travel home with rich memories of the good times, the new friendships, and your journey through some of our nation’s greatest heritage, history, and landmarks.
